Pangaea: New Bowl Shapes
These are examples of new bowls I have made in 2008. All of the bowls pictured here have been sold. I make bowls to order, from all sorts of trash paper and additives. Please indicate bowl style desired, and any preferences you might have for colors or additives, and I will do my best to make something that fits your preferences. Bowls are $10-30 each, depending on style, plus shipping.
This bowl is about 6" from brim to brim, and about 2" deep. This particular example is purple on the inside, and black on the outside, with a sparkle finish. The sparkle finish works very well on these dark colors. I love it on black!
This is a tiny bowl, about the size of a teacup. It has lovely deep fluting and an interesting dotted pattern on the base. The outside has only a hint of the fluting; it is mostly visible from the inside.
This was made on a fluted vase, and can be made taller or shorter. This one is about 4" tall. It was made with pink and black paper, with an irridescent finish.
This bowl is about 3" deep and about 5" brim to brim. It has angled sides and a beautiful star in the bottom. The outside has only a hint of the angles and star; it is mostly visible from the inside.
This is a very large bowl. It was made on a glass pie plate, so it's the size of a standard bakery pie. I made this one with multicolored angel wing flowers added to the pulp.
This is a tiny bowl, about the size of a teacup. It is very hard to make because of the X's around the rim. Separating the bowl from the mold after it dries is tricky, and I seem to destroy more than I make. But it's very rewarding to make one that works; the patterning visible on the inside is beautiful. Plain colors work best on this mold so that the patterning shows up clearly.
