[This letter is tough to date because the postmark was blurred. The only part that was clear was the month (Dec). But it appears this letter was written in 1956, because the envelope indicates Liz is living in Buckland. And it appears it is after Dec 9, since that was the letter asking for permission to go on the skiing trip. But it's before the 21st, when Liz is going to Syracuse according to the Dec 9 letter. The Saturday in between the 9th and the 21st is the 15th.]Saturday
Dear Folks,
Vacation is only one exposition paper away and am I ever glad! This was another tough week which ended with a horrible history blue book yesterday.
This was to be a get-caught-up weekend but it's not quite turning out that way. Glee Club has two concerts on campus tomorrow so we have been practicing like mad. But we're singing such great things that it's pure pleasure. I think we sound awfully good but then, my opinion is slightly biased. Tomorrow will be the test.
Congratulations to Tom on B-Ball co-captainship. Afraid I won't be home in time to see any of the games - Wish I could.
I'm still terrifically excited about skiing & so glad you don't mind. Would be nice if any or all of the Müllers could get to Syracuse for part of Christmas but imagine this is a hard time for them to get away. Their families will probably need them around holiday time. Perhaps they can come up sometime in the spring. I've been rather negligent about writing letters but am sitting bells this evening & hope to get Christmas cards off.
Ballard's party sounds like fun. I can probably bring my good dress home as I'll need two suitcases anyway. The big problem at the moment is getting my skiis [sic] home. If the snow lets up Mrs. Norton (Mud's mother) will be driving us to N.Y. so I guess I'll have to send skiis as Bob Holton has a convertible & can't take them when he comes through. But perhaps I can send my guitar & sleeping bag with him & that will lighten the load somewhat.
Must be off to my great evening of bell-sitting & Christmas card writing. Will let you know when & how I'll be getting home - it will be some time Friday.
Love,
LizP.S.
Can you please address enclosed cards? [no longer with the letter] I'm not sure if Esther's is right or not.Thankee.
