Dear Sue Ellen,
You probably received my first letter to you after you wrote me this one. It took it three days to reach me.
All during this week I've done practically nothing. I just came back from waterskiing. It was loads of fun!
I will have three other roomates. [sic] Tow of the three have already arrived. Lotta comes from northeastern Germany. She speaks broken English. Jean Hale comes from New York City, but has spent the last 3 years & summers here.
Will you please find out from Bobby Rubin where she got me my present? (A real cute autograph book) Please buy
threefour of them for me and I'll pay you for them when I get home. Please tell
tme the top 10 tunes when you write me. That was the first thing one of the Americans living abroad asked me.Ann Ochs, American living in Paris, just cut my hair. The back is in a D.A. and the sides are the way I normally wear it.
I'm writting [sic] the rest of the letter while I sun bathe. Four of us are sitting on a wall separating the lake from the lawn. It's very foggy in the distance. You can't see France at all.
Went waterskiing today. It was just great. I went for a real
lylong ride. The only French I know is: Please pass the mil, water, jam, bread or butter.
Jean Hale, my roomate [sic], told me that during the year she took Latin. Taking it 2 times a week in 2 years they got to the exact page we did. Of course, they didn't skip the "reflexives".
Larry was telling me about the rules at his school. (Dr. Schmidt's) He get's [sic] finded [sic] one frank (25¢) if he: speaks
FrenchEnglish in class or at meals. He is also find [sic] 1 fr. if he is late for meals. The food here is pretty good. Breakfast usually takes 15 min. & consists of French bread with butter and jam. You can have: Tea, milk, or coffee to drink.
Please don't forget the top tunes from WPTR and try to find the P.C. autograph book.
Love always,
Winnie
