In 1912-1913, three houses were moved to make room for the construction of Skinner Hall and Student-Alumnae Hall. The Byron Smith House, named for its former owner, was originally located here, where Mary E. Woolley Hall is located today. It was the French language house from 1939-1965. It is now located at the corner of Morgan Street and Minden Place, and is used for faculty housing.
