Gordon, international president of the Womens' Christian Temperance Union, declared herself in favor of the extreme measures adopted by the backers of the Anti-Saloon League of America at the opening of their convention in Chicago in their fight against "King Alcohol." Miss Gordon believes drastic action is necessary to sway to victory the present crisis of the dry cause and her suggestions to combat the growing wet evil were unanimously accepted by the delegates, gathered together from all corners of the earth."
