New York Bureau / Former Labor Secretary attends rally for Forand Bill New York: Carrying a bouquet of flowers, Frances Perkins, former Labor Secretary in the Cabinet of the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt, attends a senior citizens rally at Madison Square Garden here May 18th. The rally was held to support the Forand Bill, proposed by Rep. Aime J. Forand (D-R.I.), which would increase aid to the old. Bridget Dugdale, 1964
front "HOLY5701 - 5/7/74 - Holyoke, Mass. A 1964 file photo shows how Dr. Bridget Rose Dugdale, a 33-year-Old looked ten years ago while attending Mt. Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass. At that time she was working for her M. A. degree in philosophy. The western attire is from a trip out west during a school vacation. Miss Dugdale is now being held in a Dublin, Ireland jail being charged with the robbery of $20 million worth of paintings."

Sandra is the first Negro to be chosen head of an incoming class, and she heads the largest freshman class in the college's 129 years since founding -- 511 students. A graduate of East High School, Cleveland, Ohio, where she was valedictorian, Sandra expects to major in Zoology.
