Photo Album of Helen Paige Shackley x1905

History

This small photo album came to me with a scrapbook from Helen's life as a student at Mount Holyoke. This photo album appears to have been assembled in her home town before she went to college; those that are dated are marked 1898-1899. Inserted inside was a typewritten transcription of a letter Helen wrote when she was six years old. It mentions West Brookfield's Martha Club, which was founded in 1919, so this letter was inlaid in the album much later than it was assembled. The photographs are presented in groups of four as displayed in the album, and all the scans (including the one on this page) can be clicked to view at a higher resolution.
