- Postal card #1: front Postmarked in a railroad post office. Addressed to Mrs. E. M. Turner, Box 34, South Hadley, Mass.
- Postal card #1: back "Holyoke. Dear Mamma:- I've stopped weeping and don't intend to devote any more time to that pursuit. Tell Miss Dean I am very much ashamed both of the way I acted and the way things are left. I had meant to have everything all clean and a nice dinner ready for her but I didn't seem to be able to do as I planned. The nice baggage man has checked my trunk through to Boston on the strength of my saying that I'm going to buy a mileage in Springfield so I shall not have to recheck my trunk there. I hope you'll be all right. With love, Abby"
- Postal card #2: front Postmarked Aug 15 12:30pm in Boston, Mass. Addressed to Mrs. E. M. Turner, Box 34, South Hadley, Mass.
- Postal card #2: back "I am on my way to Boston from Andover, where I had a delightful time after a hot journey. I used a lot of water for them! Today is not as bad, though warm. It is clearer and I think there will be no fog tonight. Jane sends much love to you - will see you in the fall. Mr. Carpenter has been sick, but is better. Mrs. Carpenter sent her love too. Met Mrs. Dow in the library this morning. No hens this morning. The golden rod is beautiful. Love to Miss Dean & to you Abby"
