Letters from Abby Howe Turner 1896
History
The bulk of these letters fall into groups. She liked to write to her friends when she was away from campus. She kept carbon copies for herself, fortunately, and they are displayed here. None of them had envelopes, but luckily for history's sake, she dated the letters. Some of them are signed by her.
The rest of the collection transcribed here are copies of other correspondence and writings, mostly from the 1920s.
She also wrote at least three series of travel letters in the 1920s from Europe to her cousin Jessee Giddings and to Sarah Smith. Some of the letters from 1928 were addressed to Sarah, who read them and then forwarded them to Jessee.
