The Susie Lawson Letters
History
These letters were written by Susie to her family in 1904-1906, a period that Susie spent teaching in Tougaloo, Mississippi. One of the people she mentions in her letter is Ruth, who appears to be a relative but not one that was mentioned in earlier letters. I have not been able to identify her yet. Susie is living in Stone Cottage at Tougaloo, and is teaching Sunday school, mathematics and astronomy classes. She is also arranging to buy some land back in New England.
